Antoine Andrews Joins SurveyMonkey as Chief Diversity & Social Impact Officer

With nearly 20 years of experience leading DE&I at Gap, Symantec, Nike, and Year Up, Andrews’ appointment will accelerate the company’s DE&I and social impact initiatives

SAN MATEO, Calif. -- Jan. 11, 2021 -- SurveyMonkey (Nasdaq: SVMK), a leader in agile software solutions for customer experience, market research, and survey feedback, today announced Antoine Andrews has joined the company as Chief Diversity & Social Impact Officer (CDIO). In this newly created role, Andrews will lead the company’s diversity, equity, inclusion, and social impact functions to accelerate the company’s initiatives and positively influence our communities.

Andrews joins SurveyMonkey from the workforce development non-profit Year Up, an organization committed to ensuring equitable access to economic opportunity, education, and justice for all young adults. There, Andrews held the title of Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion officer. Prior to Year Up, he held significant DE&I leadership roles at Gap Inc., Symantec, and Nike. With two decades of experience in this field, Andrews will help accelerate and hold SurveyMonkey accountable in its goals to hire, retain, and develop a more diverse team as well as foster an inclusive culture. He’ll also lead social impact work, leveraging the company’s data, brand, voice, and influence to make a positive impact. Andrews will elevate SurveyMonkey’s efforts in social impact by ensuring the company continues to give back to and empower both local communities and the broader business community, a key focus for the company.

Last month, SurveyMonkey launched its inaugural social impact report, which highlights key achievements including working with vendors to ensure contractors have benefits similar to full-time employees, and reaching more than $15 million in nonprofit donations through the SurveyMonkey Contribute platform. The company has also long championed workplace diversity and inclusion. In 2019, the company announced long- and short-term goals to improve the representation of women and people of color among the employee population. SurveyMonkey seeks to achieve parity for women and men by 2024, while allowing room for gender non-conforming and non-binary individuals. In 2020, SurveyMonkey partnered with The Justice Collective to launch a vendor diversity initiative and guide to track the representation of traditionally marginalized groups working inside their vendors. The company also launched several resources in 2020 for advancing racial equity at work.
