2/28/22 Editor's note: The latest information on the proposed merger with Zendesk can be found here.

When I started as CEO of Momentive (then called SurveyMonkey), we had suddenly and tragically lost our CEO and dear friend Dave Goldberg. We were shaken and grieving—but we maintained our resolve. We knew the best way to carry Dave’s legacy was to stick with our mission. We are, and always have been, a people-centric company that helps our customers listen, understand, and act in service of their key stakeholders. We had to evolve our strategy, recruit new talent, ship new products, and execute to win.

What a wild ride it’s been since 2016. From the IPO to our CX acquisitions to the brand re-launch, the incredible team at Momentive has delivered time and again. Our 1,500 talented colleagues ship a suite of innovative, enterprise-grade solutions to customers inside of 345,000 organizations all over the world. And today we’re announcing a major step in the acceleration of our mission and our upmarket journey: joining forces with Zendesk

Zendesk pioneered the ability to easily respond to what your customers say and do. Momentive is a leader in capturing how customers think and feel. Together, we will create what companies really need: a new Customer Intelligence company that gives businesses the ability to develop a rich and dynamic picture of every customer and the tools to create meaningful customer relationships.

Zendesk and Momentive have highly complementary businesses. We aren’t just aligned in what we do, but also in who we are. We’re mission—and values—driven organizations that care deeply about our people, our communities, and the customers we serve. Our cultures and goals are aligned, and we believe this next chapter will bring together the best practices of each organization while opening up new pathways for growth, innovation, and development.

This is an exciting milestone for Momentive—one that we believe will provide significant benefits for all of our stakeholders. For our customers, I want you to hear we are re-doubling our commitment to help you shape what’s next for your customers. This moment is a true testament to our team and the tremendous value they have created for our customers over the years. I have great confidence in Momentive’s future with Zendesk, and can’t wait to embark on this next phase of our journey together. To everyone who helped get us here, thank you.
